Tip Importance of Data Information

Data information is important; one of the most important records I think is the missing person record. It displays who has been missing over a period of time and if they have been found. Now the importance of the missing person record is that if the information is processed properly Police can possibly find an abductor and investigate what actually happened.

Some of information located in the Missing Persons Data base is full name, date of birth, age, height, race, sex, hair color, eye color, date missing, photograph and any other relevant information to identify the person by. The FBI keeps a missing persons record for each year with statistics of who was found on the NCIC data page. It seems that each state has its own missing persons reporting system and then on www.missingpersonreport.org you can find a bunch of people that have left their homes and have not been found.

Internet Crime

Internet crime poses threats on our social life producing problems that are hard for the users to combat. Trojan horses are capable of extracting vital information about users, email groups, and personnel information such as social security numbers, this data can be collected, and then sold to many different corporations.  In my opinion, the worst internet crime is identity theft. The fact that a person can steal your information and use it to their benefit such as credit cards, credit ratings, thus charged merchandise makes it hard for everyday people to trust corporations located on the internet.   Information leaks such as the Sony Play Stations database being hacked for online gamers and government facilities being hacked for information makes it hard to transfer information from one place to another.

Internet fraud is the number two worst crime known to the internet. The fact that a person who is selling merchandise on the internet can be located anywhere in the world makes buying items a hassle because the rules for other countries do not protect the consumers’ best interest as well as the United States, if a company from overseas takes your money for merchandise  and never sends the product it is  heart breaking considering how far we have come with internet sales.  Frauds such as being told to cash a check that will be sent to you but is actually counter fit or being offered help in repairing credit scores and having your information stolen from you makes people weary of who to trust on the internet.  Feeling safe to use the internet to buy goods and communicate using email is a large part of our everyday lives, the internet makes it easier for people to complete everyday tasks. With the fast growing issues of Trojans horses and other information stealing software, we have to be extra careful of what types of web sites we use and who we trust.

Daubert Hearing

Scientific facts that may make the case evident that a suspect is guilty. Duabert hearings are an example of Science Vs the Law, the fact that a person’s fingerprints, DNA and computerized transactions can prove them guilty. Duabert hearings make sure that the technique that is used by the forensics and Police is reliable and holds truth in the court of law. Some of the factors that are measured are 1. Is the theory or technique tested or a falsified concept 2. Has the technique been evaluated? 3. Is it a reliable technique or source of information 4. Is the technique a generally accepted procedure that produces relevant scientific facts?

Is it fair to subsequently make up a new procedure that has not been proven to incriminate a person suspected of a crime?

Let us take for instance you have a man who is walking along the street and he launches himself at a moving car. All scientific evidence would sagest that the driver is at fault. The scientific information will only tell the jury that the specific vehicle that was moving along the highway struck the man. The scientific information will not show that the man bluntly through himself out into the street to put himself at the will of the moving vehicle thus committing suicide. Any scientific data would go against the driver even though he is not at fault. Eyewitness testimony is the only valued testimony you could have simply because the driver of the vehicle was not at fault.
