Signs of struggle consist of general examples of victims that try to leave the scene and have been forced to fight their way out. Some of the signs are pulled hair, bruises, cuts, trail of blood, broken furniture, and crumpled rugs.
A victim’s blood covered hands leave marks on walls and other items such as lamps and décor items in the area. Displaced furniture gives a good idea of the direction the victim was moving before they died or were struck down. In the case of murder neither the suspect nor the victim usually think s about the fingerprints left at the crime scene. If not premeditated, the crime scene should be full of clues that lead to the victim’s injury or death. An escape rout should be present when a victim is trying to leave or call for help. Looking closely at items that may have been touched will give a barring of what the victim was doing at the time of death and how violent the suspect was.
